Machine Model for Improvement

Pemco packaging machine Model 34, 34HS, 37, 37HS, 38

Description of Improvement

This upgrade is part of the Technical Improvement Program (TIP); it eliminates the often difficult to setup back to back flow controls for the cover plate cylinder. The new setup consists of a new cover plate cylinder that has a shorter stroke than the original design.

The timing along with speed compensation gives the operator all the required setup information on the touch screen. The cover plate is extended prior to the ream moving up on the elevator. Once the tuckers take over and folding sequence starts, the cover plate is retracting, freeing the ream from friction of the cover plate reducing markings on the top of the ream. A newly supplied regulator is used to setup the required air pressure.

This is normally done only once. When properly setup, this improvement will function consistently at all operating speeds reducing operator intervention greatly. This upgrade includes one (1) set of size change parts for the cover plate and the pusher plate for 8 陆 in x 11 in or A4 ream sizes.

Benefits

  • Eliminates complicated back-to-back flow control setup
  • One-time setup with consistent functionality at all operating speeds
  • Speed compensation is incorporated into the touchscreen
